Among the most anticipated events of August Collese, the calendar of events that enlivens Colli a Volturno (IS) throughout the month, the Gnocchi Festival stands out, usually held on August 14th, the eve of Ferragosto. The protagonists of the evening are traditional gnocchi, accompanied by the famous Collese Frittata.
Taste, Music, and Dancing
The festival transforms the village into a large open-air banquet: the gastronomic stands of the Pro Loco offer gnocchi and frittata along with other local specialties, while the evening continues with music and group dances. The August Collese program traditionally opens on August 1st with a gastronomic evening in Piazza Anfiteatro, followed by events that combine food, music, and markets.
A Community Celebration
The Gnocchi Festival is promoted by the Pro Loco of Colli a Volturno in collaboration with the municipal administration and the Alpini Group. It is a moment of strong conviviality that attracts residents, tourists, and the many emigrants who return to the village for the summer, in the heart of the Volturno valley, at the foot of the Mainarde mountains.

The Gnocchi Festival returns to Colli a Volturno in summer 2026, within the August Collese program promoted by the Pro Loco with the Municipality and the Alpini Group. Around August 14th, as tradition dictates, gnocchi and the Collese Frittata will be the stars, with gastronomic stands, music, and group dances. The detailed program is yet to be confirmed.
