Folk music, dance, and farm-to-table flavors in the heart of Atina
This edition has not been confirmed by the organiser to date. We recommend checking before going.
The Atina Traditional Festival is an event dedicated to folk music, dance, and the culinary culture of Southern Italy, enlivening the historic center of Atina, an elegant village in the Comino Valley in the province of Frosinone, Southern Lazio. For two evenings, the town's squares and alleys transform into an open-air stage where ancient rhythms, rural traditions, and genuine flavors come together.
The festival is a true journey through taste and music. The protagonists are the sounds of Southern folk tradition: tarantellas, work songs, accordions, and tambourines guide the audience on a path that rediscovers the musical roots of Ciociaria and the Center-South. Alongside live concerts, the program includes free folk dance workshops, open to all, inviting residents and visitors to learn the steps and join in the community dancing.
Great emphasis is placed on the local culinary culture. Along the festival route, stalls featuring local farm-to-table products are set up, where you can taste the specialties of the Comino Valley: from cheeses to cured meats, and traditional rural dishes to the famous Cabernet di Atina DOP, the signature wine of this land. It is an opportunity to meet local producers and savor the authenticity of a cuisine tied to seasonality and short supply chains.
Perched on a hill overlooking the valley, Atina is one of the most fascinating historic centers in the province of Frosinone, with ancient origins and a heritage that blends Roman and medieval history with folk traditions. The Comino Valley, nestled between the Abruzzo, Lazio and Molise National Park and the mountains of Ciociaria, offers a natural landscape of great beauty and a dense network of summer events. The Atina Traditional Festival fits into this calendar as a moment of identity, capable of uniting the local community and the many Atinati e Valcominesi nel Mondo who return every summer to reconnect with their roots.
Thanks to free admission and a program designed for families, folklore enthusiasts, and the curious, the Atina Traditional Festival is an open and participatory experience. The combination of music, dance, good food, and village atmosphere makes it one of the most authentic summer evenings in Southern Lazio, where tradition is not a museum piece but a living, shared celebration.
The 2026 edition of the Atina Traditional Festival will feature the format that has made the event a highly anticipated summer appointment in the Comino Valley: two evenings of live concerts of Southern folk music, free folk dance workshops, and stalls with local farm-to-table products in the historic center of Atina (province of Frosinone, Lazio).
At the moment, official dates and the detailed program have not yet been published. This page will be updated as soon as the Associazione Atinati e Valcominesi nel Mondo announces the calendar, line-up, and schedule for the 2026 edition.
