A showcase of the arts on Lake Bolsena

Atelier in Corso is a collective exhibition that transforms the Sala Cavour in Bolsena into an open-air laboratory of arts and crafts every summer. Located in the heart of the town's historic center, overlooking the lake in the province of Viterbo, Lazio, the exhibition brings together local and visiting artists and artisans, offering the public a diverse and surprising journey. The 2026 edition is scheduled from July 25 to August 16, with free admission.

Disciplines on display

The title perfectly captures the spirit of the initiative: a collective studio, always "in progress," where different languages and materials coexist. The exhibited works include:

• Ceramics: hand-modeled and decorated artifacts, blending tradition and experimentation;
• Painting: canvases and panels exploring landscapes, figures, and abstraction;
• Metalwork: objects and sculptures born from forging and assembly;
• Weaving and tailoring: fabrics, textures, and garments resulting from patient artisan skill;
• Creative recycling: works that breathe new life into reclaimed materials with a sustainable approach.

The collective format allows visitors to move through a few rooms and transition from ceramics to painting, from metal to fabric, discovering affinities and contrasts between the various artistic approaches.

The Sala Cavour

The Sala Cavour, located on the street of the same name just a few steps from Piazza Matteotti, is Bolsena's municipal exhibition space: a spacious environment defined by arches that opens onto an internal garden. For over twenty years, it has hosted solo and collective exhibitions of painting, ceramics, photography, and contemporary art, becoming a cultural landmark for the town during the summer season.

Part of the Estate Bolsenese

Atelier in Corso is part of the rich Estate Bolsenese program, a series of events that brings music, cinema, traditions, and culture to Bolsena from June to September. During the same period, the town also hosts the BolsenArte music festival and the outdoor screenings of the Est Film Festival, making a visit to the exhibition a perfect addition to a day or evening on Europe's largest volcanic lake.
