The Oliveri stop of the traveling festival leading up to Indiegeno Fest
Aspettando Indiegeno Fest is the traveling event that serves as a prelude to Indiegeno Fest, the iconic independent music festival held every summer in the municipality of Patti. The Oliveri stop, located in a small village overlooking the Tyrrhenian Sea in the province of Messina, transforms the Parco Urbano on Corso Cristoforo Colombo into an open-air stage dedicated to the new wave of Italian singer-songwriters.
Curated by the La Town association as part of a network of independent festivals, the project aims to provide a platform for emerging artists and foster generational renewal. Each evening features a selection of under-35 musicians chosen not for a single genre, but for their artistic visionโranging from indie-pop and singer-songwriter styles to more experimental sounds. In Oliveri, the audience encounters voices already active in national circuits while enjoying the intimacy of a local live performance.
Aspettando Indiegeno is not just a single concert, but a series of stops throughout June that traverse various municipalities in the Messina area, from Oliveri to San Piero Patti, including Patti and Gioiosa Marea. Every evening is free to attend and concludes with an aftershow DJ set, creating a festive atmosphere that engages both residents and visitors. The festival is supported by the Ministry of Culture, SIAE, and local municipal administrations.
The Aspettando Indiegeno evenings serve as an appetizer for the main event, Indiegeno Fest, which takes place in the evocative setting of the Grotte di Mongiove, on the coast of Patti, with a main stage overlooking the Aeolian Islands. For the municipality of Oliveri and the entire Tyrrhenian coast of Sicily, the festival represents a precious opportunity to experience live music in a stunning natural setting, while highlighting the landscape and cultural heritage of the province of Messina.
The evening took place on Saturday, June 6, 2026, at the Parco Urbano in Oliveri, starting at 5:00 PM with free admission. The line-up brought together five under-35 acts from the Italian independent scene, concluding with an aftershow DJ set.
This event kicked off the 2026 traveling festival, which visited San Piero Patti, Patti, and Gioiosa Marea between June 6 and 26, in anticipation of the Indiegeno Fest scheduled for July 3-4 at the Grotte di Mongiove.
Oliveri is located on the Tyrrhenian coast of the province of Messina. By car, take the Falcone exit on the A20 Messina-Palermo motorway, then continue for a few minutes towards Oliveri. By train, the Oliveri-Tindari station is served by the Tyrrhenian line. The event is held at the Parco Urbano on Corso Cristoforo Colombo.
The evening begins at 5:00 PM. Admission is free. We recommend checking the official Indiegeno Fest channels for any program updates.
