Argentine-style grilled meat, sangria, and live music in Val Fontanabuona
The Asado Festival is the spring festival of the Circolo Acli of San Colombano Certenoli, in Val Fontanabuona (Metropolitan City of Genoa). The star is the asado, the large Argentine-style grilled meat, a dish that tells of the strong ties between the Ligurian hinterland and emigration to South America.
The festival is a village celebration in the truest sense: food stalls, communal tables, sangria, dancing afternoons, and live music with popular orchestras. The atmosphere is that of the festivals of the past, with the semi-covered structure allowing for dancing and dining under shelter, even in case of bad weather.
San Colombano Certenoli is one of the municipalities of Val Fontanabuona, the slate valley that winds through the hinterland between Genoa and Tigullio. The festivals organized by Circolo Acli mark the local calendar and are an opportunity to discover an authentic territory, made of villages, flavors, and popular traditions.
The 2026 edition takes place on Sunday, May 17, at the Circolo Acli of San Colombano Certenoli. The day features food stalls with asado and typical specialties, followed by a dancing afternoon with sangria and live music.
The semi-covered structure allows the festival to take place even in case of bad weather. Table reservations: 348 3924468.
San Colombano Certenoli can be reached by car from Genoa along the SP225, or from Chiavari and Rapallo by heading up into Val Fontanabuona. The Circolo Acli is signposted in the town.
