Contemporary circus arrives in Minerbio

ARTinCIRCO is the International Festival of contemporary circus and performing arts that enlivens the summer of the metropolitan city of Bologna. Founded in 2018 and directed by Ferdinando D'Andria, the festival is itinerant: from the heart of Ozzano dell'Emilia, it spreads through the hills, parks, and squares of various Municipalities in the Bolognese area, including Minerbio, in the province of Bologna, in the heart of the Emilia-Romagna plain.

Two evenings under the stars in Piazza Dalla Chiesa

In Minerbio, the festival chooses Piazza Carlo Alberto Dalla Chiesa as its stage, hosting a summer series of free admission outdoor shows. Acrobats, tightrope walkers, jugglers, and actors transform the square into an open-air theatre, with performances designed to engage both adults and children.

A festival for all ages

ARTinCIRCO's hallmark is a circus that doesn't need a big top: it takes shape in urban spaces, among the audience, blending acrobatic technique, puppetry, live music, and poetic narration. The evenings in Minerbio are conceived as moments of meeting and sharing, suitable for families and anyone who wants to be surprised by the wonder of circus arts.

The Minerbio stops are part of a broader itinerary that spans the summer in Emilia-Romagna, supported by local Municipalities and the Metropolitan City of Bologna.
