In the heart of the Alto Sangro, in the town of Castel di Sangro in the province of L'Aquila, Arte e Mestieri - Street Food is the summer highlight that transforms the historic center into a journey of taste, craftsmanship, and music every August. Promoted by the Pro Loco of Castel di Sangro APS, the event spans two evenings and involves some of the village's most beautiful squares, from Piazza Plebiscito to Piazza Patini, extending to Viale degli Alpini and the narrow streets of the center.

A celebration of taste and craftsmanship

The event's core theme is the meeting of popular gastronomy and artisan creativity. Along the route, visitors will find street food stalls and tastings of local specialties, market stands featuring traditional products and handmade goods, alongside local craft exhibitors. The evenings are accompanied by live music to dance and sing along to, making the event a shared celebration for both residents and visitors.

A bond with the Sangro tradition

The festival ideally connects to the historic Mostra Antiche Arti e Mestieri (Ancient Arts and Crafts Exhibition) of Castel di Sangro, a city boasting an ancient artisan vocation linked to wrought iron, wood, and wool working. This heritage of knowledge and skills, passed down through the centuries, resurfaces in the atmosphere of the event, which highlights the cultural roots of the Abruzzo village and its food and wine excellence.
