The festival of grilled arrosticini in Pedaso, on the Riviera delle Palme
This edition has not been confirmed by the organiser to date. We recommend checking before going.
The Arrosticini Festival is one of the most cherished gastronomic events of the summer in Pedaso, a coastal municipality in the province of Fermo, in the Marche region. For over thirty years, in the heart of August, the village overlooking the Riviera delle Palme dedicates several evenings to the undisputed king of Adriatic and Abruzzese popular cuisine: the arrosticino. The event takes place in Via Gramsci and is organized by US Pedaso Campofilone, the local sports club, with the involvement of many local volunteers.
Arrosticini are small skewers of sheep meat cut into cubes and cooked over coals in a characteristic narrow and elongated grill, the so-called canalina. In Pedaso, they are hand-cooked over coals evening after evening, and they represent the dish around which the entire festival revolves. It is a tradition that unites the pastoral culture of the Apennine hinterland with the liveliness of the coast, in a typically Marche combination.
In addition to arrosticini, the food stalls offer a rich and genuine menu, designed to please everyone:
Prices are typical of village festivals, affordable and accessible, and service is provided by volunteers from the organizing association.
The festival evenings are enlivened by live music and a family-friendly, convivial atmosphere. Dinners are served outdoors, under the Adriatic summer stars, among tables set up along the street. It is an event that attracts locals, holidaymakers, and curious visitors from neighboring towns in the Valdaso and the Fermo coast, and which confirms its popularity year after year with thousands of portions served.
Pedaso is one of the smallest villages in the province of Fermo, nestled between the Adriatic Sea and the hills of the Valdaso. Its pebble beach and proximity to the coastal nature reserves make it a popular destination for summer holidays. The Arrosticini Festival is part of a rich summer events calendar and offers the ideal opportunity to discover Marche hospitality and the authentic flavors of this land.
