The Arrosticini Festival is one of the most cherished gastronomic events of the summer in Pedaso, a coastal municipality in the province of Fermo, in the Marche region. For over thirty years, in the heart of August, the village overlooking the Riviera delle Palme dedicates several evenings to the undisputed king of Adriatic and Abruzzese popular cuisine: the arrosticino. The event takes place in Via Gramsci and is organized by US Pedaso Campofilone, the local sports club, with the involvement of many local volunteers.

What are Arrosticini?

Arrosticini are small skewers of sheep meat cut into cubes and cooked over coals in a characteristic narrow and elongated grill, the so-called canalina. In Pedaso, they are hand-cooked over coals evening after evening, and they represent the dish around which the entire festival revolves. It is a tradition that unites the pastoral culture of the Apennine hinterland with the liveliness of the coast, in a typically Marche combination.
