Around the World... by Fork

A Journey Through World Flavors in the Heart of the Marche

The Around the World... by Fork is an intercultural festival that enlivens Piazza Vittorio Veneto in Camerata Picena, a small municipality in the province of Ancona, in the Marche region, every spring. The idea is simple and fascinating: to transform the town square into an international gastronomic route, where each stand tells a different country through its typical dishes.

Participants receive a passport and have it stamped from stop to stop, tasting the specialties prepared by citizens of foreign origin who now live in Camerata Picena. A concrete and joyful way to travel while staying in town, discover distant cultures, and break down linguistic and cultural barriers through conviviality.

How the Event Was Born

The event has its roots in a project by the municipal library, particularly in the multilingual readings that involved residents born in other countries. From those meetings, the idea of a festival centered on integration, mutual understanding, and community ties grew. Promoted by the Municipality of Camerata Picena, the event has grown edition after edition to become an anticipated fixture on the local spring calendar.

The Featured Countries

Each edition features a selection of different cuisines. Among the countries represented in recent editions are Germany, Ukraine, Gambia, and Bangladesh: a map of flavors spanning Europe, Africa, and Asia, reflecting the multicultural composition of the Camerata Picena community.

An Experience for Everyone

Open to all and designed for families, Around the World... by Fork is above all an outdoor meeting opportunity, in one of the most characteristic squares of the Marche village. More than just a food festival, it is a small intercultural festival, where every taste is also a story and every table an occasion for dialogue.
