The Arienzo Christmas village, featuring illuminations, an ice rink, and festive markets
The Arienzo Christmas Village is the major festive event that brings the small town of Arienzo, located in the province of Caserta at the foot of the Partenio mountains and just a few kilometers from the Appian Way, to life every winter. For about twelve weeks, from late November to January, the historic center turns into a sprawling Christmas village: streets and squares are filled with artistic illuminations, light installations, and decorations, immersing both adults and children in the magic of the holiday season.
The heart of the event is spread across the town's main squares. Piazza Lettieri hosts the ice skating rink, one of the most popular attractions for younger visitors, alongside a funfair with rides for all ages. Parco Vigliotti is home to the craft markets, featuring wooden stalls dedicated to handmade goods, local products, and gift ideas, while Corso Europa and Via Annunziata are adorned with illuminations and scenic installations that provide a stunning backdrop for evening strolls.
In addition to the permanent attractions, the Arienzo Christmas Village offers a packed calendar of events: theatrical performances, concerts, gospel choirs, a night of street performers, a living nativity scene, and traditional holiday celebrations, ranging from the Christmas tree lighting and seasonal concerts to Epiphany festivities. The program keeps families entertained throughout the holiday period, with offerings ranging from Neapolitan comedy to live music.
Promoted by the Municipality of Arienzo in collaboration with the Pro Loco and local associations, the Christmas village has quickly become a key reference point for the entire Caserta area. The event aims to enhance the historic center and offer families in Campania a place to experience the Christmas spirit, amidst lights, music, and popular traditions, in the community-focused atmosphere typical of small Italian villages.
The fifth edition of the Arienzo Christmas Village took place from November 30, 2025, to January 30, 2026, confirming the successful formula of a sprawling Christmas village in the center of Arienzo, in the province of Caserta. Twelve weeks of events immersed adults and children in the holiday atmosphere, with lights, shows, and attractions for the whole family.
The event was promoted by the municipal administration, led by Mayor Giuseppe Guida, with the collaboration of the Pro Loco and local associations.
Arienzo is located in the province of Caserta, along the Appian Way. By car, it can be reached via the A1 motorway (Caserta Sud or Santa Maria a Vico exits) and the main roads of the Valle di Suessola. The nearest train station is Arienzo-San Felice a Cancello on the regional line.
Access to the village, markets, and illuminations is free. Tickets for the ice skating rink and funfair rides are priced according to the individual attraction's rates.
Events take place primarily in the evening and on weekends. We recommend wearing warm clothing for outdoor evenings and checking the updated program on the official channels of the Municipality of Arienzo and the Pro Loco.
