A New Festival for Architecture in Romagna

The Architecture Festival makes its debut in Savignano sul Rubicone, in the province of Forlì-Cesena, from September 25th to 27th, 2026. It is one of the most interesting new events in the rich summer and autumn calendar of the Romagna town: an event that aims to bring the world of design, construction, and landscape care closer to the general public, themes often confined to professional circles but here brought into the city's squares and spaces.

The event stems from the collaboration between the Municipality of Savignano sul Rubicone and the Order of Architects, Planners, Landscape Architects, and Conservators of the province of Forlì-Cesena, which has been promoting initiatives for the dissemination and discussion of contemporary architecture quality in the area for years.

The Context: Savignano and the Rubicon

Savignano sul Rubicone is a small town in Romagna crossed by the river that tradition identifies with the ancient Rubicon, the one Julius Caesar crossed in 49 BC. Its historic center, gathered around Piazza Borghesi with the collegiate church of Santa Lucia, the town hall, and the Accademia dei Filopatridi, has always been a place of cultural vibrancy. It is no coincidence that Savignano also hosts the renowned SI Fest, a historic photography exhibition, a sign of a community accustomed to making culture an identity trait.

The idea behind the Architecture Festival is simple and ambitious: to explain how the space we live in—our homes, squares, parks, landscapes—is the result of design choices that concern everyone.
