When spring returns, the streets around the majestic patriarchal Basilica of Aquileia fill with colours, scents, and creativity. It's Aquileia in Spring, the event organized by the Pro Loco Aquileia that welcomes residents and visitors for a day of celebration in the heart of the UNESCO site.
The market and the flavours of Friuli
The protagonist is the Spring Market: artisans and artists display original works related to Friulian traditions, while local producers offer food and wine specialities and dishes from local cuisine. Strolling through the stalls, with the Basilica as a backdrop, is a special way to discover the soul of Aquileia.
Workshops, glass, and music
The day is enriched with events for everyone: the glass flower workshops (for adults and children), designed to introduce young and old to the art of glassmaking, and musical moments in Piazza Capitolo, from the San Paolino musical association to live performances that accompany the day. A family-friendly event, combining artisanal shopping, taste, culture, and the timeless beauty of Aquileia.
Aquileia in Spring — edition 2026
The 2026 edition of Aquileia in Spring is scheduled for Sunday, April 26, from 8:00 AM to 11:30 PM, in the historic centre around the Basilica. Organized by Pro Loco Aquileia, the day offers the spring market, local flavours, glass workshops, and live music.
Programme Aquileia in Spring 2026
The day's program includes:
- from morning to evening, Spring Market in the streets around the Basilica, with crafts, original creations, and local producers;
- tastings of food and wine specialities and Friulian dishes;
- glass flower workshop at Bluoltremare (Via Patriarchi 3), from 11:00 AM to 6:00 PM, with sessions of about 30 minutes for adults and children;
- music in Piazza Capitolo: at 11:00 AM the San Paolino musical association, at 2:00 PM performances by Master Denis and Mattia.

How to get there: Aquileia is reached from the A4 motorway (Palmanova exit), a few kilometres from Grado; the reference station is Cervignano-Aquileia-Grado.
