A band tradition in the heart of Val di Fiemme

"Appuntamenti con la Banda" is the summer festival of wind and percussion music that brings Tesero to life every June. Located in the Val di Fiemme in the province of Trento, Trentino-Alto Adige, the event reaches its twenty-sixth edition in 2026. It is conceived and organized by the Banda Sociale Erminio Deflorian, a musical association that has been one of the village's most deeply rooted cultural institutions for decades. The festival offers three free evenings where band music moves from rehearsal rooms into the streets of the historic center, turning the village into an open-air stage.

Parade and concert: the festival formula

Each event follows a well-established ritual beloved by the locals. At 8:30 PM, the parade sets off from Piazza Nuova: the guest band marches through the center, involving residents and visitors in a festive atmosphere. At 9:00 PM, the evening moves to the Municipal Theatre of Tesero for the main concert, featuring a repertoire ranging from traditional marches to band arrangements of famous pieces and original works for wind orchestra.

The featured bands

The program alternates the local band with guest ensembles from Trentino and the nearby Veneto region. Regular participants include the Corpo Bandistico di Dossobuono, the Banda Sociale di Cavalese, and, of course, the hosts, the Banda Sociale Erminio Deflorian, who traditionally perform in conjunction with the patronal feast of Sant'Eliseo, the village's patron saint celebrated in mid-June.

A community event

More than just a series of concerts, "Appuntamenti con la Banda" is a moment of cohesion for the entire Tesero community. The festival is supported by the Municipality of Tesero, the Autonomous Province of Trento, the Federation of Band Corps of the Province of Trento, the Cassa Rurale Val di Fiemme, and the APT Val di Fiemme Cembra. Free admission to all evenings makes it an event open to families, music lovers, and tourists who choose Val di Fiemme in summer for its mountains and vibrant cultural life.

Nestled on the sunny side of the valley between Cavalese and Predazzo, Tesero is known for its well-preserved historic center, typical frescoed facades, and a strong musical and artisanal identity. The wind band festival fits naturally into this context, enhancing a tradition that has always found one of its most solid cultural pillars in the social bands of the Trentino valleys.
