Four nights of world-class jazz in the courtyard of Villa Corsini Sarsina
Anzio's Summer Jazz Time is one of the most anticipated musical events of the summer on the Roman coast. Every July, the historic courtyard of Villa Corsini Sarsina in Anzio, in the province of Rome, transforms into an open-air stage dedicated to high-quality jazz. The festival, produced by the Associazione Culturale Hangar with the support of the Municipality of Anzio, is artistically directed by guitarist Francesco Bruno, a key figure in the Roman jazz scene.
The choice of Villa Corsini Sarsina is no coincidence: the historic residence, with its intimate and secluded courtyard, offers warm acoustics and an elegant setting that enhances live listening. The concerts take place in the evening, when the heat of the day gives way to the sea breeze, offering the audience an experience that is both intense and relaxed. The event is part of the rich summer calendar of Anzio, helping to establish the town as a cultural destination beyond its seaside appeal.
Throughout its editions, Anzio's Summer Jazz Time has hosted some of the most acclaimed musicians on the national and international scene. The festival alternates between soloists, trios, quartets, and quintets, ranging from solo piano to larger ensembles, with a particular focus on research and innovation in jazz language. Each edition is dedicated to an inspiring figure, serving as a common thread between the concerts and the accompanying arts.
Alongside the concerts, the festival offers moments of poetry, visual arts, and record presentations, creating a dialogue between different creative languages. This multidisciplinary approach makes each evening a small cultural event in its own right, capable of engaging both jazz enthusiasts and curious newcomers.
Anzio's Summer Jazz Time represents an important part of the cultural offering of the coastal Lazio region. The event combines the promotion of original jazz with the enhancement of the city's historical heritage, offering locals and tourists four nights of great music in an exceptional setting.
The fourth edition of Anzio's Summer Jazz Time, scheduled from July 23 to 26, 2026, in the courtyard of Villa Corsini Sarsina, is dedicated to the figure of Saint Francis, adopted as a symbol of peace, dialogue, and respect for others. Four evenings bringing together some of the most authoritative protagonists of Italian jazz, under the artistic direction of Francesco Bruno and the production of the Associazione Culturale Hangar, with the support of the Municipality of Anzio.
All concerts are held in the courtyard of Villa Corsini Sarsina, with doors opening to the public at 8:00 PM.
