Molfetta's musical evening in memory of guitarist Angelo Ribera
This edition has not been confirmed by the organiser to date. We recommend checking before going.
Angelo Day is the summer appointment where Molfetta, in the province of Bari, honors the memory of local guitarist Angelo Ribera every year. A musician with a long career, Ribera shared the stage with great names of Italian pop music, including Nilla Pizzi, bringing his hometown's name to national stages. The city has even dedicated a street to his memory, a testament to the deep bond that this event renews every summer.
The evening takes place at the Anfiteatro di Ponente, the open-air venue overlooking the Molfetta coastline that becomes the heart of city events in summer. The seaside setting, the evening breeze, and the festive atmosphere make this one of the most beloved locations in the Adriatic Puglia for concerts under the stars. Admission is traditionally free of charge and open to all, with seating available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Each edition of Angelo Day features a major concert performed by orchestras and live ensembles that reinterpret the repertoire of classic Italian songwriting. The artistic direction is curated by the Ribera family, who keep the musician's memory alive through a high-quality program dedicated to the great voices and authors of our country.
Angelo Day is part of the Molfetta Summer Edition calendar, the program of cultural events with which the Municipality of Molfetta enlivens the city's summer. The event is organized by the Angelo Ribera Musical Association, with the patronage of the municipal administration, and has established itself over time as one of the most anticipated musical appointments of the Molfetta summer season.
Dates and the program for the 2026 edition have not yet been announced. The event is traditionally held in August at the Anfiteatro di Ponente: updates on next summer's edition will be released by the organizing association and the Molfetta Municipality channels in the weeks leading up to the event.
Those spending the summer on the Bari coast will find in Angelo Day the perfect opportunity for an evening of great live music by the sea, free and suitable for all ages. It is an event that combines the value of remembrance with the pleasure of an open-air concert in the heart of an Apulian city rich in maritime history like Molfetta.
The calendar for Angelo Day 2026 is not yet available. As per tradition, the event is expected to take place in the month of August at the Anfiteatro di Ponente in Molfetta, with free admission. As soon as the organizing association announces the date and program for the edition, this page will be updated with all useful information.
