The international showcase for Sicilian agri-food excellence in Torrenova
Every late summer, the town of Torrenova, overlooking the Tyrrhenian Sea at the foot of the Nebrodi mountains in the province of Messina, transforms into the capital of Sicilian agri-food with the Amunì Agri-Food Festival. The name itself, in the Sicilian dialect, is an invitation: "Amunì" means "let's go" or "come on," reflecting the spirit with which this Nebrodi town opens its squares to producers, buyers, and thousands of visitors.
At the heart of the event is the exhibition fair dedicated exclusively to Sicilian companies: wineries, distilleries, breweries, dairies, preserves, seafood products, sweets, and extra virgin olive oil all showcase the island's extraordinary gastronomic wealth. Alongside the stands, the festival hosts B2B meetings that connect local producers with buyers from strategic markets such as South Korea, Brazil, Singapore, Germany, Australia, Spain, and the United Kingdom, offering small local businesses a concrete opportunity for growth and export.
The days come alive with guided tastings, conferences on the agri-food supply chain and sustainability, as well as cabaret, theater, and sports initiatives. The presence of the Italian Sommelier Association and the event's inclusion in the European Region of Gastronomy circuit have consolidated the festival's quality profile over the years, with the main evening alone already attracting around twenty thousand people.
What makes Amunì a favorite among younger audiences are the free concerts in Piazza Mare, featuring nationally renowned artists who have animated past editions, from Rocco Hunt to Fedez, and from Arisa to Baby K and Mr. Rain. Music, taste, and entertainment blend into a festive atmosphere that embraces families, young people, and tourists alike.
Organized by the Municipality of Torrenova together with the Pro Loco, the youth municipal council, and local associations, Amunì is much more than a fair: it is the identity-driven celebration of a community that makes its land and products the engine of a booming food and wine tourism sector along the Nebrodi coast.
The new edition of the Amunì Agri-Food Festival moves its calendar to late August this year, from August 28 to 30, 2026, in Piazza Mare in Torrenova. A strategic choice by the Municipality to offer an even richer and more engaging experience, capable of attracting more exhibiting companies and top-tier artists.
The lineup, defined as "record-breaking" by the organizers, offers three nights of free concerts:
Alongside the music, the exhibition area brings together Sicilian food and wine excellence with tastings, conferences, and B2B meetings between producers and international buyers. Furthermore, starting August 24, an amusement park in Piazza Campo Sportivo will entertain children, teenagers, and families.
Torrenova is located on the Tyrrhenian coast of Messina, along the SS113 road. By car, it can be reached via the A20 Messina-Palermo motorway, taking the Brolio-Capo d'Orlando exit and continuing east. By train, the reference station is Torrenova on the Messina-Palermo Tyrrhenian line.
The exhibition area and concerts are held in Piazza Mare, on the Torrenova seafront. Musical evenings take place at night; starting August 24, an amusement park will be set up in Piazza Campo Sportivo for children and families.
Access to the fair and concerts is free. For information: [email protected].
