A Mountain Festival at the Foot of Sasso Remenno

The Alpini Festival of Val Masino is the summer event organized by the Alpini Group of this municipality in the province of Sondrio, in the heart of Valtellina. It takes place at the Alpine Area in Sasso Remenno, along the cycle path, in a unique setting dominated by the erratic boulder of the same name, one of the largest in Europe and a popular destination for climbers and nature lovers.

Three Days of Alpine Rations and Conviviality

The festival unfolds over three days marked by the typical moments of Alpine tradition. It begins with the flag-raising ceremony at the Monument to the Alpini of San Martino and a tribute at the cemetery, followed by mass at the Alpini hut. The heart of the event is the Alpine ration, served at lunch and dinner with typical Valtellina specialties — from pizzoccheri to cured meats and mountain cheeses — accompanied by afternoon musical entertainment and evening concerts with an orchestra.
