An Opera Gala in the heart of the Alessandria region

The Alexandria Opera Festival is an itinerant opera festival that travels through the most picturesque villages and locations in the Province of Alessandria, in Piedmont. Now in its fourth edition, it is promoted by the Lyricum association with the support of the Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio di Alessandria and the patronage of local municipalities. The festival brings grand operatic music out of traditional theaters, choosing courtyards, squares, historic palaces, and churches as its natural stages.

The Avolasca stop

The Municipality of Avolasca, a small village of just over two hundred inhabitants nestled in the Tortona hills at an altitude of about 425 meters, hosts one of the most anticipated evenings of the program. On July 25, 2026, the parish church will host an Opera Gala, a concert featuring the most beloved arias and pieces from the operatic repertoire, from great Italian composers to the most famous pages of the European tradition.

An evening dedicated to memory

The Avolasca event holds special significance: the evening is dedicated to the memory of Luciano Mariano, a key figure and great supporter of the festival. The Gala thus becomes not only a moment of high music but also a heartfelt tribute to those who believed in this festival and its roots in the Alessandria territory.

The 2026 edition of the Alexandria Opera Festival features numerous events distributed between June and September, touching various municipalities in the province: from Tortona to Marengo, from Garbagna to Pozzolo Formigaro, from Rocchetta Ligure to Casasco, up to Viguzzolo and San Sebastiano. The Avolasca stop is part of this journey, helping to spread operatic culture even in smaller centers and to enhance the architectural and landscape heritage of the Piedmontese hills.
