In the hamlet of Riviera in Montegrino Valtravaglia, in the Province of Varese, early May is marked by the Alborellata, the patronal feast that the Pro Loco organizes every year for the local patron saint. In the Valli del Verbano, in a green corner of the Varese province, the event attracts locals and visitors for a weekend of taste and tradition.

Bleak takes center stage

The signature dish of the feast is fried bleak, small lake fish served hot, from which the event gets its name. Alongside them, a rich menu of specialties: ravioli with butter and sage, mixed grills, trout, and sandwiches with salami, in a gastronomic offering that highlights the flavors of the region.

Cuisine, music, and conviviality

The kitchen opens every evening from 7:00 PM, with Sunday lunch starting at noon. The evenings are enlivened by music and the festive atmosphere typical of village festivals, in a climate of conviviality that involves the entire community of the Riviera hamlet. An event that combines the religious dimension of the patronal feast with the popular and gastronomic one.
