The hip hop festival at the Ponte Lungo Skatepark in Rome
This edition has not been confirmed by the organiser to date. We recommend checking before going.
The Urban Vibes Block Party is the festival that brings hip hop culture straight to the streets, held at the Ponte Lungo Skatepark at Via Gela 60, in Rome's Tuscolano district. Just a stone's throw from the Tuscolana train station and the Ponte Lungo metro stop, this urban space transforms for a day into an open-air stage where the four pillars of hip hop culture coexist and interact: MCing (freestyle rap), breaking (breakdancing), writing (graffiti), and the sounds of beatboxing, with the addition of bike polo matches.
The most anticipated moment is the freestyle rap battle, with qualifiers, quarter-finals, semi-finals, and a final that electrify the crowd around the ring. Alongside the microphone, there are breakdancing performances and battles curated by Roman and Lazio-based crews, live writing sessions with free walls provided to artists, and beatbox shows. It is a day designed to bring together established athletes and emerging young talent in the sense of community that is the hallmark of the capital's urban scene.
The event was born from the collaboration of several independent local entities: the AteneoRM collective, which has been energizing Roman "muretti" (street spots) since 2023 with weekly freestyle battles, and Urbis Next Gen, a group dedicated to the reclamation of urban spaces, together with beatbox, breaking, and writing associations. Before the party, the organizers dedicate part of the day to cleaning and maintaining the skatepark, with a focus on respect and the enhancement of common goods.
The Urban Vibes Block Party represents the final evening of a season of events that, between spring and autumn, bring freestyle and hip hop culture to the public spaces of Rome. For the capital of Lazio and its province, it is a precious opportunity to introduce younger generations to a comprehensive artistic language that combines music, dance, visual arts, and neighborhood engagement. Free admission, street atmosphere, and a community that grows with every edition.
The 2026 edition of the Urban Vibes Block Party has not yet been officially announced. Following the success of the 2025 autumn event, the festival is expected to return to the Ponte Lungo Skatepark in Rome, bringing together freestyle rap battles, breakdancing, graffiti, and beatboxing. For updated dates and programs, it is recommended to follow the organizers' social media channels (AteneoRM and Urbis Next Gen).
