The Frecce Tricolori return to Bellaria-Igea Marina

The Air Show - Frecce Tricolori is one of the most anticipated events of the summer on the Rimini Riviera. Every year, the National Acrobatic Patrol of the Italian Air Force chooses the coastline of Bellaria-Igea Marina, in the province of Rimini (Emilia-Romagna), for one of its most spectacular displays: ten MB-339 aircraft drawing the green, white, and red trails of the Italian flag across the sky, above the sea and the seafront crowded with spectators.

Dates and times for the 2026 edition

In 2026, the event takes place on the weekend of June 20th and 21st. Saturday, June 20th features the official practice sessions, while Sunday, June 21st hosts the solemn display by the National Acrobatic Patrol. The Sunday afternoon programme kicks off around 4:15 PM with acrobatic demonstrations by planes and aircraft, culminating with the Frecce Tricolori's flyover in the final part, around 6:00 PM. Times may vary based on weather conditions and the Air Force's technical requirements.

Where it takes place

The heart of the event is the Porto Canale area, with its headquarters at Piazzale Capitaneria di Porto, in the Igea Marina district. The best viewing spots are along the seafront promenades — Colombo, Carrà, and Pinzon — and along the entire beach, offering an unobstructed view of the sky and sea. A village with exhibition stands and information points is set up in the Porto Canale area, along with a free ferry service to cross the canal.

An event within the Notte Rosa

The Air Show is not an isolated event: it represents the grand finale of the Notte Rosa, the famous summer New Year's Eve of the Adriatic Riviera. After a week of concerts, parties, and fun, it's the magic of flight that concludes the long pink weekend. The combination of the air show and the festive atmosphere of the coast makes this weekend one of the highlights of the summer season for the Municipality of Bellaria-Igea Marina.

The Frecce Tricolori display is free and outdoors: just reach the beach or the seafront a little in advance to secure a good spot. It's a perfect occasion for families and aviation enthusiasts, who come every year from all over Emilia-Romagna and neighbouring regions to admire the aerobatics of the patrol that symbolises the Italian Air Force.
