The village of San Michele all'Adige celebrates with historic rafts, live music, and the flavors of Trentino
Adesenfesta is the major village festival of San Michele all'Adige, a town in the Rotaliana Plain in the province of Trento, in the heart of Trentino-Alto Adige. Every year, on the first weekend of June, the historic center transforms into a sprawling stage: two days of festivities celebrating the close historical and emotional connection the town has always shared with the Adige river that flows through it.
The most iconic moment of the event is the return of historic navigation: the traditional rafts of the zattieri return to sail the Adige, arriving at the village to the notes of the Faedo Band. It is a symbol of a river tradition rooted in centuries of timber transport along the river, now proudly re-enacted by the community of San Michele all'Adige.
The festival is brought to life by around two hundred volunteers from local associations, coordinated by the Pro Loco in collaboration with the Municipality. Along Via Roma, local associations set up food stalls serving traditional Trentino dishes paired with Rotaliana wines. Three different stages host live concerts, cover bands, DJ sets, and karaoke to keep the evenings lively.
During Adesenfesta, the Trentino Ethnographic Museum (METS) opens its doors with discounted admission, hosting exhibitions dedicated to Alpine culture. The museum also serves as the setting for Agrifamily - Family Festival, featuring workshops promoted by the Rotaliana-Königsberg Family District. Sustainability is also a priority, with the collaboration of Trentino Solidale to combat food waste. A free, popular, and inclusive event that captures the soul of a Rotaliana village and its river in just two days.
The 2026 edition was held on Saturday, June 6 and Sunday, June 7 in the historic center of San Michele all'Adige. The Pro Loco, chaired by Alessandra Predelli, coordinated about 200 volunteers from local associations, with the festival spread across three stages and eight stalls along Via Roma.
Saturday, June 6: cycling excursion by the SAT group towards Caldaro, wooden play area, dog training demonstration, official inauguration, and arrival of the traditional raft of the zattieri on the Adige welcomed by the Faedo Band; in the evening, concerts and DJ sets. Sunday, June 7: educational walk "L'Ades vist da de sora", guided tour of the Church of San Michele Arcangelo, Gigi Bertoldi Memorial (briscola tournament), morra tournament, gymnastics and hip hop performances, children's choir, and live evening music.
Also active were the "Toy Workshop" exhibition at the Trentino Ethnographic Museum, the Agrifamily - Family Festival initiative, and the collaboration with Trentino Solidale against food waste.
San Michele all'Adige is located along the Brenner railway line: the Mezzocorona-San Michele all'Adige station is just a few minutes from the center. By car, take the A22 motorway exit at San Michele all'Adige-Mezzocorona, then follow signs for the historic center.
Free admission. The festival takes place over two days in the historic center, with food stalls, stages, and activities from the afternoon until the evening. The Trentino Ethnographic Museum (METS) is open both days from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
