An evening market at the foot of the Dolomites

The Abendmarkt, the evening market of Anterselva di Mezzo (known as Antholz Mittertal in German), is one of the most cherished summer traditions in the Anterselva Valley, located in the municipality of Rasun-Anterselva (Rasen-Antholz) in the Puster Valley, province of Bolzano, in Trentino-Alto Adige. On select evenings in July and August, the village center is transformed: streets are closed to traffic, warm lights are illuminated, and the air fills with the aroma of mountain specialties.

What to find at the stalls

Stroll leisurely along the colorful stalls from 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM to discover authentic local products:

• Local gastronomic specialties and mountain dairy products from the valley;
• Traditional South Tyrolean sweets and baked goods;
• Handcrafted items, decorative objects, and souvenirs;
• Clothing and footwear;
• A rich food and wine corner for dining al fresco under the stars.

A trampoline is also set up for children, ensuring a pleasant evening for the whole family.

Live music and alpine horns

Every Abendmarkt evening is brought to life with live music. The alpine atmosphere is set by alpine horn players (Alphornbläser), joined by local bands and groups such as the Anterselva Music Band, the Antholza Sunnta Musig, or ensembles like Franz & Robert. It is a genuine way to experience the valley's culture and traditions in an intimate and convivial setting.

A sustainable event

The Abendmarkt is organized by the Anterselva Valley Tourist Association (Tourismusverein Antholzertal) with a focus on sustainability: visitors are encouraged to arrive on foot, by bicycle (using dedicated racks), or via bus line 431, which connects Valdaora to Lake Anterselva. Admission is free.
