About A Tutto Volume

A Tutto Volume - Ragusa Book Festival is the premier literary event in south-eastern Sicily. Every June, it brings Ragusa Ibla, Ragusa Superiore, and Marina di Ragusa to life with author talks, performances, concerts, debates, and activities for young readers. Promoted by the La Girandola cultural association, it draws over 25,000 visitors from across Italy to the UNESCO-listed Baroque heart of the Iblean region, with free admission to all events.

A literary festival in the heart of the Iblean Baroque

A Tutto Volume - Ragusa Book Festival is one of the most beloved cultural events of the Sicilian summer. Established in 2009, the festival transforms the Iblean capital into a vast, open-air stage every year. For four days, the squares, churches, and courtyards of Ragusa host writers, journalists, scientists, musicians, and artists for dozens of free events. The festival is promoted by the La Girandola cultural association and was conceived by Alessandro Di Salvo.

Three cities in one

The festival's strength lies in its natural scenery. Events are spread across three iconic locations in the municipality of Ragusa: Marina di Ragusa, with its Rotonda sul Mare overlooking the Mediterranean; Ragusa Superiore, the modern city that serves as the hub for afternoon sessions; and Ragusa Ibla, the UNESCO World Heritage Baroque jewel, where Piazza Duomo and ancient alleys host the closing events. Walking between venues is part of the experience, winding through staircases, late-Baroque churches, and panoramic views of the Iblean mountains.

A multi-voiced program

Each edition features a program divided into thematic sections dedicated to literature, current affairs, science and the environment, music, art, and photography, as well as biographies and major contemporary social issues. Alongside author meetings, there are concerts, lecture-performances, readings, and workshops designed for children and teenagers, making A Tutto Volume an event for the whole family.

  • Author meetings with Italian and international novelists, essayists, and journalists
  • Concerts and performances at the opening and closing in the most evocative squares
  • Lecture-performances on science, history, and current affairs
  • Activities and workshops for younger audiences
  • Polara "Parole Solari" Award, a recognition dedicated to fiction that tells the story of Sicily

A landmark for Sicily

With over 25,000 participants expected from all over Italy, A Tutto Volume has become one of the most important literary gatherings in Southern Italy and a driver for cultural tourism in the Iblean territory. The festival enhances the bond between books and places, leading readers to discover Ragusa and its province during one of the most beautiful seasons of the year.

A Tutto Volume โ€” edition 2026

The 17th edition of A Tutto Volume took place from June 11th to 14th, 2026, across Marina di Ragusa, Ragusa Superiore, and Ragusa Ibla, with over 25,000 participants and a lineup of major names in literature, journalism, and science. The seventeenth edition of the festival was held in Ragusa from June 11th to 14th, 2026, under the direction of Alessandro Di Salvo, Antonio Pascale, Massimo Polidoro, and Paolo Verri for the La Girandola association.
