A band gathering for the thirtieth anniversary of the Evan Gorga Band

The "30 Years of Music" Band Gathering is the highlight of the musical summer in Broccostella, a small town in the Comino Valley nestled at the foot of the mountains in the province of Frosinone, in the heart of the Ciociaria area and the Lazio region. On July 18, 2026, Piazza Don Domenico Cardi will transform into an open-air stage to celebrate the thirty years of the Evan Gorga Municipal Band, founded in 1996 and a staple of the town's major civil and religious commemorations ever since.

The Evan Gorga Band and its history

The band is named after Evan Gorga, a tenor from Broccostella born in 1865, who was chosen by Giacomo Puccini and Arturo Toscanini for the world premiere of "La Bohème" at the Teatro Regio in Turin in 1896. He was also a famous collector of musical instruments and antiques, now housed in numerous Italian museums. With over forty members and a training school for new students, the Evan Gorga Band is a vibrant part of the Lazio band scene, twinned with the Giulio Terilli band of Esperia and a regular participant in gatherings and festivals across Italy.
