About 3 Days for School

"3 Days for School" is the premier national convention dedicated to the world of education, hosted annually by Città della Scienza in the Bagnoli district of Naples. Three days of dialogues, keynotes, immersive workshops, and exhibitions where teachers, school administrators, students, universities, research bodies, and businesses discuss artificial intelligence, inclusion, career guidance, and ecological education. The 25th edition is scheduled from November 25 to 27, 2026.

The national school convention in Naples

3 Days for School is the annual event that brings the Italian educational community together in Naples, Campania: school administrators, teachers, students, professional associations, institutions, local authorities, universities, research centers, informal education hubs, and businesses. The venue is Città della Scienza, the science center of the Idis Foundation overlooking the sea in Bagnoli, in the western area of the Municipality of Naples.

Born as a national forum for discussing teaching methodologies, emerging technologies, and professional training, the event has grown to exceed seven thousand attendees in a single edition, becoming the primary meeting point between public schools and the world of innovation.

Themes of the 2026 edition

The 25th edition is titled "3 Days with Public School: dialogues, methods, discoveries to inhabit crises" and is structured around four thematic pillars announced by the organizers:

  • Artificial intelligence and digital transition: using technology not just as an automation tool, but as a conscious and critical practice;
  • Equality, accessibility, and inclusion: combating school dropout rates and socioeconomic inequalities;
  • School-to-work transition: guidance and dialogue between the educational system and the productive sector;
  • Ecological education: moving beyond an anthropocentric approach toward systemic sustainability.

A "school bootcamp" format

The event is not a traditional conference: teachers do not just watch passively, but participate in hands-on activities. The exhibition space is organized into four complementary environments:

  • the Plenary Hall, featuring keynotes and expert seminars;
  • the Innovation Expo, with stands from tech companies, publishing houses, and edutech startups;
  • the Lab Village, with immersive workshops led by mentor teachers;
  • the Networking Lounge, dedicated to informal dialogue and professional networking.

Organizers

The event is promoted by the Idis Foundation – Città della Scienza in partnership with the Department of Social Policies and Education of the Campania Region and the Regional School Office for Campania. This triple institutional leadership explains the event's dual vocation: national in scope yet deeply rooted in the local Campanian territory. Alongside speakers from all over Italy, each edition provides ample space for projects from regional schools and experiences gained through regional programs dedicated to guidance and dropout prevention.

An event inside a science center

Hosting the convention at Città della Scienza is no mere logistical detail. The science museum on Via Coroglio, with its interactive labs, planetarium, and temporary exhibitions, provides participants with an environment designed for active learning. During the three days, visiting classes alternate between convention meetings and the center's permanent exhibits, in a district, Bagnoli, which is itself a case study in urban and environmental regeneration.

When it takes place

The event is traditionally held in the autumn. Following the 24th edition in October 2025, which saw over seven thousand attendees, the event returns from November 25 to 27, 2026 for its 25th edition, once again at Città della Scienza in Naples.
