The national school convention at Città della Scienza
3 Days for School is the annual event that brings the Italian educational community together in Naples, Campania: school administrators, teachers, students, professional associations, institutions, local authorities, universities, research centers, informal education hubs, and businesses. The venue is Città della Scienza, the science center of the Idis Foundation overlooking the sea in Bagnoli, in the western area of the Municipality of Naples.
Born as a national forum for discussing teaching methodologies, emerging technologies, and professional training, the event has grown to exceed seven thousand attendees in a single edition, becoming the primary meeting point between public schools and the world of innovation.
The 25th edition is titled "3 Days with Public School: dialogues, methods, discoveries to inhabit crises" and is structured around four thematic pillars announced by the organizers:
The event is not a traditional conference: teachers do not just watch passively, but participate in hands-on activities. The exhibition space is organized into four complementary environments:
The event is promoted by the Idis Foundation – Città della Scienza in partnership with the Department of Social Policies and Education of the Campania Region and the Regional School Office for Campania. This triple institutional leadership explains the event's dual vocation: national in scope yet deeply rooted in the local Campanian territory. Alongside speakers from all over Italy, each edition provides ample space for projects from regional schools and experiences gained through regional programs dedicated to guidance and dropout prevention.
Hosting the convention at Città della Scienza is no mere logistical detail. The science museum on Via Coroglio, with its interactive labs, planetarium, and temporary exhibitions, provides participants with an environment designed for active learning. During the three days, visiting classes alternate between convention meetings and the center's permanent exhibits, in a district, Bagnoli, which is itself a case study in urban and environmental regeneration.
The event is traditionally held in the autumn. Following the 24th edition in October 2025, which saw over seven thousand attendees, the event returns from November 25 to 27, 2026 for its 25th edition, once again at Città della Scienza in Naples.
The 25th edition of "3 Days for School" is confirmed from November 25 to 27, 2026, within the spaces of Città della Scienza, on Via Coroglio in Bagnoli, in the Municipality of Naples. The title chosen by the organizers, "3 Days with Public School: dialogues, methods, discoveries to inhabit crises," indicates the desire to place public education at the center of the debate.
The event is promoted by the Idis Foundation – Città della Scienza in partnership with the Department of Social Policies and Education of the Campania Region and the Regional School Office for Campania. The detailed calendar of meetings, keynotes, and workshops has not yet been published and will be released on the official website in the months leading up to the event.
