The Carnival of Alto Vicentino
The Zugliano Carnival is the carnival celebration of the municipality of Zugliano, in the Alto Vicentino area (province of Vicenza), organised by Pro Loco Zugliano. For one Sunday, the town comes alive with allegorical floats, masked groups, and the typical cheerfulness of the carnival season.
The day revolves around the parade: the floats and masked groups gather in the post office area, along Via Galileo, and parade through the town centre streets to the main square, where the awards ceremony for the floats takes place. Accompanying the procession are the Banda di Centrale and the Majorettes of Fara Vicentino, with performances and group dances animating the square. The Pro Loco stand offers the unmissable fritters and 'zeppole sarde'.
It is a simple and participatory town festival, designed primarily for families and children, which colours a winter Sunday in Zugliano every year.
Zugliano Carnival — edition 2026
The Zugliano Carnival 2026 was held on Sunday, February 22, organised by Pro Loco Zugliano. The day began at 2:00 PM with the gathering of floats and masked groups in the post office area (Via Galileo); at 2:30 PM, the parade started through the town centre streets, arriving in the main square, followed at 3:30 PM by the awards ceremony for the floats and the performance by the majorettes with group dances. Accompanying the celebration were the Banda di Centrale and the Majorettes of Fara Vicentino, with the Pro Loco stand offering fritters and 'zeppole sarde'.
