In the hamlet of Nera Montoro, a few kilometers from Narni, in the province of Terni, the Zucchini Flower Festival is one of the most anticipated food and wine events of the Umbrian summer. The event celebrates a simple and precious ingredient of seasonal cuisine — the zucchini flower — offered in many tasty preparations at the festival stands.
Ancient grains and peasant tradition
The festival's cuisine highlights local products: dishes are also prepared with ancient grain flours, a recovery of a peasant tradition that tells the agricultural identity of the Nera valley. Good food is accompanied by live music every evening, in a festive atmosphere that attracts families and visitors from nearby villages.

Zucchini Flower Festival — edition 2026
The twenty-fifth edition of the Zucchini Flower Festival will take place from June 26 to July 5, 2026, at the Municipal Pool of Nera Montoro, a hamlet of Narni. The stars are zucchini flowers and dishes prepared with ancient grain flours, served at the gastronomic stands for ten evenings of celebration accompanied by live music.

Nera Montoro is reachable by car from the Orte-Terni highway (Narni Scalo/Nera Montoro exit). Narni-Amelia station is a few kilometers away.
