Three evenings under the stars featuring the authentic flavors of Tuscia in Fabrica di Roma
This edition has not been confirmed by the organiser to date. We recommend checking before going.
The Wild Boar Festival is one of the premier summer gastronomic events in Fabrica di Roma, a town in the province of Viterbo nestled in the landscape of Tuscia, in northern Lazio. Though a relatively recent addition to the local calendar, the event has quickly established itself as a festive occasion that draws both residents and visitors from neighboring towns, all attracted by the promise of three evenings dedicated to good food, conviviality, and the ancient traditions of rural cuisine.
The heart of the festival is wild boar meat, a staple ingredient of Lazio's inland gastronomy, prepared according to recipes rooted in local tradition. The menu offers a rich succession of courses, from appetizers and pasta dishes to hearty stews, all designed to highlight the bold and authentic flavor of this meat. For those who prefer more delicate tastes or do not care for game, the kitchen also offers numerous other local dishes, ensuring everyone can enjoy the feast.
The festival takes place at the Quartaccio site, in the area of the former riding track along Via A. Cencelli, a spacious open-air venue that becomes the ideal spot for dining under the stars during the summer. Food stalls open in the evening, and the atmosphere comes alive with live music, which accompanies the dinners and turns every night into a joyful gathering for all ages.
Organized with the support of the Municipality of Fabrica di Roma and local volunteers, the Wild Boar Festival perfectly embodies the spirit of popular festivals in Tuscia: genuine events, deeply rooted in the community, where fine food becomes an opportunity to meet and share traditions. Reservations are recommended to secure a table on busier nights.
An opportunity to discover the most authentic side of Fabrica di Roma and the Viterbo Tuscia region, amidst robust flavors, genuine hospitality, and the serene backdrop of summer evenings in Lazio.
The Wild Boar Festival is expected to return to Fabrica di Roma in July 2026, once again featuring open-air evenings at the Quartaccio site with a menu based on wild boar, typical Tuscia dishes, and live music. The official dates and program for the 2026 edition have not yet been released: announcements are expected on the Municipality of Fabrica di Roma channels.
Fabrica di Roma is located in the province of Viterbo, in northern Lazio. By car, it can be reached via the Via Cassia (SS2) or the Orte-Viterbo expressway; the festival area is at the Quartaccio site, near the former riding track along Via A. Cencelli. By train, the Fabrica di Roma station is served by the Rome-Viterbo line.
