Wild Asparagus Festival

The sixth edition: May 3, 2025

The sixth edition of the Wild Asparagus Festival was held on Saturday, May 3, 2025, in Piazza Maria Teresa Di Lascia, in the heart of Rocchetta Sant'Antonio. As per tradition, the evening combined gastronomy with a cultural discussion on the value of agricultural production in the Monti Dauni.

The opening, at 7:00 PM, featured the round table "The sustainability of local production: asparagus as a development opportunity", moderated by agronomist Donato Colucci and introduced by Mayor Pompeo Circiello, with contributions from industry experts and the GAL Meridaunia. Afterward, the square came alive with tastings and folk music by the group "A paranza r'o lion". The initiative was promoted by the Municipality of Rocchetta Sant'Antonio as part of the PNRR Borghi project, in collaboration with the Fitness & Gym Association.

• 7:00 PM — Round table "The sustainability of local production: asparagus as a development opportunity", moderated by agronomist Donato Colucci, with opening remarks by Mayor Pompeo Circiello and contributions from agricultural technician Pellegrino Riccio, GAL Meridaunia President Pasquale De Vita, Vincenzo Saporito (CIA Italian Farmers), and biologist Sara Fabrizio.
• Following — Tastings of wild asparagus dishes: stew with asparagus, lamb and veal, asparagus omelet, local cured meats and cheeses, taralli, and Aglianico wine.
• Evening — Live folk music with the group "A paranza r'o lion".
