Wellness, inclusivity, and sustainability between Vietri sul Mare and Salerno
The Wellness Wave Festival was born in May 2026 between the municipality of Vietri sul Mare and the city of Salerno, in Campania, standing as the first Mediterranean festival entirely dedicated to wellness, inclusivity, and sustainability. The event is promoted by the association Lila Marga ASD PS ETS under the direction of Eliana Andreozzi, supported by local organizational partners such as Estrema Srl and DonKey Travel.
The chosen format is that of a widespread festival: rather than concentrating the public in a single space, activities are distributed between the municipal villa, mountain trails, the marine area, and various private facilities in the two towns. This choice is explicitly linked to slow tourism, aiming to avoid overcrowding and offer visitors a different pace, more respectful of the locations and the people who live there.
The nerve center of the festival is the Villa Comunale of Vietri sul Mare, on Via Enrico de Marini, a green terrace overlooking the Gulf of Salerno. From here, the proposals radiate out, taking participants to the beach, on sailboats, along the trails of Monte San Liberatore, and across the scenic paths that mark the beginning of the Amalfi Coast.
The schedule alternates physical practice, self-care, culture, and conviviality. Experiences proposed in the first edition include:
The project explicitly draws on the goals of the United Nations 2030 Agenda: health and well-being, sustainable cities and communities, and the reduction of inequalities. Hence the focus on inclusion, with proposals designed even for those with no experience in holistic practices, and on sustainability, reflected in both organizational choices and the content of the meetings.
Vietri sul Mare, in the province of Salerno, is the first village on the Amalfi Coast for those arriving from the east and is world-famous for its artistic ceramics, recognized as a traditional local production. The majolica domes, the workshops in the center, and the Marina di Vietri provide a natural backdrop for a festival that has chosen the beauty of the landscape as its primary tool for healing.
The Wellness Wave Festival speaks to yoga and meditation practitioners, but also to those simply looking for four different days: hikers, natural cuisine enthusiasts, families, and those curious about holistic disciplines. The organizers have announced their intention to make the event annual, with May 21st — World Meditation Day — as the symbolic opening date, accompanied by monthly thematic events.
The Wellness Wave Festival debuted from May 21 to 24, 2026 between Vietri sul Mare and Salerno, with long days (roughly from 7 am to 10 pm) and activities distributed across multiple locations. The event, promoted by Lila Marga ASD PS ETS and directed by Eliana Andreozzi, was presented on May 15, 2026, at a press conference at the Confindustria Salerno headquarters.
Three conferences punctuated the cultural program: one dedicated to yoga therapy, one titled «Nourishing Life» on mindful eating, and a third, «Landscapes of the Soul», on building one's inner landscapes. Around these, over ten yoga teachers, holistic practitioners, naturopaths, chefs, and artists guided practices, workshops, and excursions.
The widespread format, with mostly limited-capacity events, worked well: good participation from both adults and children and strong involvement from the local Salernitan business and association network. At the end, the organizers announced their intention to make the festival annual, keeping May 21st as the opening date and adding thematic appointments on the 21st of each month.
Events took place between the Villa Comunale of Vietri sul Mare, beaches and the marine area, mountain trails, and private facilities in Vietri sul Mare and Salerno. Almost all activities had limited capacity and required mandatory booking.
By train: Salerno station, served by high-speed rail, then local bus or taxi to Vietri sul Mare (about 10 minutes).
By car: Take the Vietri sul Mare exit on the A3 Naples-Salerno motorway. The center has limited parking: park-and-ride lots and walking are recommended.
By plane: Salerno-Costa d'Amalfi Airport or Naples-Capodichino Airport.
By boat: During the summer season, maritime connections are available from the Manfredi pier in Salerno towards the Coast.
The heart of the festival is the Villa Comunale of Vietri sul Mare (Via Enrico de Marini). Other activities are spread across beaches, the Lattari Mountains trails, the marine area, and private facilities in Vietri sul Mare and Salerno: the exact location is indicated for each individual experience at the time of booking.
