An event born in 2014

Established in 2014, the Sports Safety Day was created with a clear objective: to educate young people on the fundamental principles of competitive lifesaving, spreading a culture of water safety and best practices in first aid. The program is built around this message, alternating sports exhibitions, competitions, and practical demonstrations, with the belief that learning how to stay safe in the water should also be a moment of celebration and spectacle.

Water polo, champions, and testimonials

The heart of the event is water polo, with the Water Safety Cup bringing the stars of the discipline into the pool. Among the protagonists is Olympic champion Massimiliano Rosolino, a special guest already tied to the Marsica region, alongside stars of Italian water polo. The presence of well-known faces from national sports gives the event a reach that extends far beyond local borders, bringing children and teenagers closer to the values of safe sport.

Organizers

The event is directed by the UISP Committee of L'Aquila, a sports promotion body chaired by lawyer Liberato Taglieri, with the organizational collaboration of the Centro Italia Nuoto (CIN) of Avezzano and Celano, directed by Massimo de Leonardis, and the Team Centro Italia led by Roberta Frizzi. The Carispaq Foundation and the Sports Department of the Abruzzo Region also contribute to its realization, demonstrating the institutions' commitment to the values of safe sport. The organizers invite all citizens, young people, and enthusiasts to experience a day dedicated to great sports, entertainment, and, above all, awareness.
