Every April 2nd, the world celebrates World Autism Awareness Day, and Codogno, in the Basso Lodigiano area of the province of Lodi, responds with its Walk for Autism, now in its sixth edition in 2026. A walk open to everyone that crosses the city, transforming a simple gesture like walking together into a message of inclusion and attention towards autistic people and their families.
From Piazzale Carabinieri to Cooperativa Amicizia
The walk starts at 10:30 AM from Piazzale Carabinieri d'Italia and winds through the city streets to the Cooperativa Amicizia, where participants gather for a convivial moment. Along the route, city shops display works created by students from local schools, involving the entire city of Codogno as the protagonist of the day.
The film and the evening discussion
The day continues in the evening at the Vezzulli Exhibition Centre theatre with the screening of the film "La vita da grandi", followed by a brief discussion with families of autistic children. An opportunity to delve deeper into the themes of the Day through cinema and dialogue.
Sport, solidarity, and community
The event is part of the "Terra di Fiumi - European Capital of Sport 2026" project, which promotes sport and movement as tools for social inclusion. The Walk for Autism thus combines the sporting dimension with solidarity, strengthening the sense of community in the Lodi area.

The 6th Walk for Autism in Codogno takes place on Thursday, April 2, 2026, on the occasion of World Autism Awareness Day.
