The historic harvest festival with costume parades, grape stomping, and fireworks
The Grape Festival of Miradolo Terme, in the province of Pavia, is a historic harvest festival with roots stretching back decades of local tradition. Every year, at the end of summer, Piazza Unità d'Italia becomes the heart of an event that celebrates grapes and the peasant culture of the Bassa pavese, amidst folklore, gastronomy, and popular festivities.
Among the most characteristic moments are the regional costume parade, accompanied by the Filarmonica Castiglionese, and the grape stomping competition, an ancient gesture recalling the ritual of the harvest. These are joined by a vintage car parade, the curious "mechanical donkey" race, and numerous food and wine stalls that liven up the square.
The festival also thrives on conviviality: communal dinners, live music with bands playing great hits, and, to close, a fireworks display. Traditional tripe is also available by reservation, a symbolic dish of the local popular cuisine.
Organized by the Amici di Miradolo association, the Grape Festival is an event of identity for Miradolo Terme and the entire Bassa pavese. More than just a simple festival, it's a celebration of the town's agricultural roots, an occasion to bring different generations together around the harvest tradition, in the municipality of Miradolo Terme (province of Pavia).
The 2026 edition of the Grape Festival enlivens Piazza Unità d'Italia in Miradolo Terme on the weekend of September 19-20. Saturday evening is dedicated to the communal dinner and live music; Sunday features the heart of the festival, with folklore, gastronomy, and tradition.
Sunday's program includes the regional costume parade accompanied by the Filarmonica Castiglionese, food and wine stalls, a vintage car parade, the "mechanical donkey" race, the grape stomping competition, the communal dinner, and finally, the fireworks display.
Traditional tripe available by reservation. Free admission.
