Winter Plunge in Voltri

The Voltri Winter Plunge is one of the most charming and long-standing traditions in the western part of Genoa. Every year, on a Sunday in January, the beach of Voltri fills with participants ready to brave the chilly temperatures of the Ligurian Sea with a collective dive. Organized by the Circolo Pescasport F. Durante, under the patronage of the Municipio VII Ponente.

A Festival for Everyone

The Plunge is not a competition, but a fun, non-competitive recreational event open to all: loyal veterans, families, and curious onlookers gather to share the event's lighthearted spirit. After the plunge, the highlights include the election of Miss and Mister Plunge and the awards ceremony.

Focaccia and Mulled Wine

To warm up participants and spectators, refreshments are provided by Proloco Voltri 2000 and the National Association of Alpini of Voltri, featuring the traditional Voltri focaccia, hot drinks, and mulled wine. A gastronomic offering that is an integral part of the festival.
