Marcellano, a village that sings of wine
Marcellano is a medieval village, a hamlet of Gualdo Cattaneo in the province of Perugia, nestled among castles and towers in the heart of Umbria's Sagrantino region. Here, VinCanta comes to life, a widespread wine festival that for seven evenings transforms alleys and squares into an itinerary of taste, music, and conviviality.
Wines of the region
The absolute stars are the great Umbrian red wines: Montefalco Rosso and Sagrantino DOCG, along with other oenological nuances of the territory. The tasting unfolds along a food and wine itinerary through the village alleys, with stops dedicated to traditional Umbrian dishes. Don't miss the Sweet Corner, where local desserts are paired with Sagrantino passito.
Ambient Music
VinCanta doesn't have a single stage: the music is ambient throughout the village, with folk groups and bands enlivening the evenings and creating a festive atmosphere in the streets. The surrounding landscape of the castles of Speltara and Simigni and the Rocca Sonora (Rocca dei Borgia) provides a backdrop to the event.

VinCanta — edition 2026
The 2026 edition of VinCanta is spread over seven evenings, from June 26 to 28 and July 2 to 5, in the medieval village of Marcellano. The village alleys transform into a culinary itinerary featuring the great local red wines — Montefalco Rosso and Sagrantino DOCG — and traditional Umbrian dishes. Ambient music, with folk groups and bands, enlivens the entire village, while the Sweet Corner offers local desserts paired with Sagrantino passito.
Programme VinCanta 2026
The schedule for the seven evenings of the 2026 edition (June 26-28 and July 2-5) includes, for each evening:
- Food and wine itinerary through the village alleys: stands and stops with tastings of Montefalco Rosso, Sagrantino DOCG, and other local wines, paired with Umbrian cuisine.
- Sweet Corner: local desserts paired with Sagrantino passito.
- Ambient Music: folk groups and bands animating various points of the village simultaneously (no single stage format).

How to get here
Marcellano is a hamlet of Gualdo Cattaneo (PG). Reach it by car from the E45 (Todi exit) or the SS3 Flaminia, following signs for Marcellano.
