Muggiò's Heritage Opens to the Public

Every year, the Province of Monza and Brianza promotes Ville Aperte in Brianza, a major exhibition that opens villas, palaces, and historical sites in the region to the public. Muggiò participates with guided tours of its two jewels: Villa Casati Stampa di Soncino and the Mausoleum of the Counts Casati, curated by the Pro Loco of Muggiò.

Casati Villa and Mausoleum

Villa Casati Stampa di Soncino, attributed to architect Leopoldo Pollack and now the Town Hall, is the town's most representative monument. With its park and interiors, it tells the story of the noble families who shaped the Brianza region. A short walk away, in the local cemetery, stands the Mausoleum of the Counts Casati, a refined example of 19th-century funerary architecture. Guided tours provide access to normally restricted areas and reveal their history.

Theatrical Tours and Workshops

The experience is enhanced by original offerings: theatrical tours with period dance and music designed for adults, and sensory workshops — such as an olfactory trail for children aged 6 to 10 — that engage younger visitors with the heritage. Typically held between spring and autumn, Ville Aperte is the ideal occasion for Muggiò, in the Province of Monza and Brianza, to rediscover the town's historical and cultural roots through its most precious sites.
