The Vespa rally and vintage festival in Alvignano
Vespagiro is the major festival dedicated to the legendary Vespa, which every year in early June brings the town of Alvignano to life in the province of Caserta, in the heart of Campania. Organized by the Vespa Club Alvignano with the support of the local municipality, the event has become a staple for fans of the historic Pontedera scooter and local families, successfully blending community spirit, motors, music, and folk traditions.
Vespagiro is more than just a local fair: it is an official stage of the National and Regional Tourism Championship of the Vespa Club Italia. Because of this, on Sunday, numerous Vespa Clubs from all over the region and beyond flock to Alvignano, creating a spectacular procession of vintage and modern Vespas that winds through the roads of the Matese mountains and the Caserta countryside.
The festival spans an entire weekend, offering a rich program that alternates between musical moments, performances, and activities for children. Highlights include:
The highlight is the Sunday Vespa ride, which takes participants to discover the landscapes of the Upper Caserta area, winding through hills, villages, and views of the Matese. It is the perfect opportunity to experience the region from the saddle of an iconic vehicle, in the festive and sharing atmosphere that is the true soul of Vespagiro.
Throughout the event, food stalls offer specialties and typical products from the Caserta area, turning the festival grounds into a convivial meeting point. Between the roar of engines and gastronomic stops, Vespagiro captures the identity of Alvignano and the passion of an entire community for the Vespa, an timeless symbol of Italian style.
The 17th edition of Vespagiro, held in Alvignano from June 5 to 7, 2026, celebrated the 80th anniversary of the Vespa with a vintage soul, organized by the Vespa Club Alvignano with the support of the municipality.
Friday opened the festival with folk music by Sfessania and a DJ set by I Soci, featuring Dario Cacchillo and Miss Lady V on the decks. Saturday was an evening entirely made in Alvignano, featuring the Contrada del Lupo (winner of the 2026 Palio Alvignanese), the DueQuarti Band, singer-songwriter Demis Manzo, and the winners of The Voice Generations, Jessica and Gilda.
Sunday, the big day of the rally: from 8:30 AM, registration and welcome for Vespa Clubs, official greetings, and the Vespa ride. In the afternoon, the Slow Race, trial shows, the "Non solo Marilyn" burlesque show, and the grand musical finale. Great success for the new Vespagiro Baby, the mini-ride dedicated to children.
Alvignano is located in the province of Caserta, in the Upper Caserta area. By car, it can be reached from the Caianello exit (A1 motorway) or from Caserta by following signs for the Volturno Valley. The nearest train station is Alvignano-Dragoni, on the NaplesโPiedimonte Matese line.
Access to the festival area and shows is free; for registration for the Vespa rally and the Vespa ride, please contact the Vespa Club Alvignano. Food stalls are open all three evenings.
