About Verucchio Festival

The Verucchio Music Festival enlivens the historic center of Verucchio every July, an ancient Malatesta village in the province of Rimini, Emilia-Romagna. Promoted by the Municipality of Verucchio with the artistic direction of Ponderosa Music & Art, the festival offers author, classical, and avant-garde music concerts in evocative locations such as Piazza Battaglini, the Malatesta Fortress, and the Pazzini Theater. A free, high-quality event, one of the longest-running in Romagna.

The Verucchio Music Festival

The Verucchio Music Festival is one of the most beloved and long-standing summer music events in the Romagna hinterland. Founded in 1984, every July it transforms the historic center of Verucchio, a splendid Malatesta village perched on the hills of the province of Rimini, into an open-air stage. The event is promoted by the Municipality of Verucchio with the artistic direction of Ponderosa Music & Art, an entity known for the care and coherence of its cultural offerings.

A quality offering in the heart of Emilia-Romagna

The festival is distinguished by a refined program, far from the logic of large commercial events: the protagonists are singer-songwriters, avant-garde music, classical music, and the intersections between music, literature, and theater. The main concerts take place in Piazza Battaglini, on the parvis of the Collegiata Church, while special events animate the Malatesta Fortress and the Pazzini Theater, creating a unique dialogue between music and historical heritage.

The festival venues

  • Piazza Battaglini: the heart of the festival, hosting the main concerts on key evenings.
  • Rocca Malatestiana: the fortress overlooking the village, a setting for special events.
  • Teatro Pazzini: an intimate space dedicated to prose and classical music productions.

Free admission

One of the most appreciated features of the Verucchio Festival is its free admission: entry to the concerts is free until available seats are filled. This choice makes the event a popular and inclusive appointment, capable of attracting audiences from all over Romagna and the Adriatic Riviera each year.

Verucchio and the Rimini hinterland

Considered the cradle of Villanovan civilization, Verucchio is one of the Most Beautiful Villages in Italy and a must-visit destination in the Rimini hinterland. Attending a festival concert, with the illuminated Fortress and the view over the Valmarecchia, means experiencing an event that combines great music, history, and the beauty of the Emilia-Romagna landscape.

Verucchio Festival — edition 2026

The 42nd edition of the Verucchio Music Festival takes place from July 19 to 25, 2026, in the historic center of Verucchio. Among the guests of the free concerts in Piazza Battaglini: Giovanni Truppi, Cristina Donà, and Pacifico. The lineup is completed by two special events at the Rocca Malatestiana and the Pazzini Theater.
