Valentine's Day in the city of Romeo and Juliet
No city in the world is as closely associated with love as Verona, the setting for the most famous love story of all time: that of Romeo and Juliet. Based on this, the city has built Verona in Love, the grand Valentine's Day celebration that animates the historic center every February for an entire weekend.
Piazza dei Signori is the beating heart of the event, with themed markets, art installations, music, and open-air performances. The Loggia di Fra' Giocondo hosts talks, meetings with authors, and cultural events, while the new Casa Verona venue, in pavilion 20 of the Arsenale, features tango, gospel, and meetings. The civic museums offer special openings and themed guided tours, welcoming thousands of visitors over a few days.
Among the most popular events is the Zero Wind Romeo&Giulietta Run Half Marathon, a half marathon that attracts over 10,000 participants, with a relay and family run. Rounding out the festivities are participatory installations where you can leave a message of love, dance performances, and the "Riflessi d'Amore" (Reflections of Love) competition for the most creative shop windows. Verona in Love is a celebration that combines romance, culture, and hospitality, in one of Italy's most evocative monumental settings.
From February 13 to 15, 2026, Verona celebrated Valentine's Day with Verona in Love. The historic center, with Piazza dei Signori as its heart, was filled with markets, artistic installations, music, and shows, while the civic museums offered special openings and themed guided tours, welcoming around 8,000 visitors over the weekend.
Piazza dei Signori as the heart of the celebration, the Romeo&Giulietta Half Marathon with over 10,000 participants, the civic museums open with themed tours, and the participatory love installations.
Verona's historic center is reachable on foot from Verona Porta Nuova station and by ATV bus lines. It is advisable to leave your car in the city center parking lots.
Events in the square are free to enter. Civic museums require a ticket (with special themed openings); the Half Marathon requires registration.
