Verdevolo: Environment at the Heart of the Festival
Verdevolo is the event that the Municipality of Granarolo dell'Emilia, through the Department of the Environment, dedicates every spring to the themes of nature, sustainability, and active citizenship. The heart of the event is the Parco Verdevolo, located at Via Massarenti 1 in the hamlet of Cadriano. For three days, this green space transforms into a widespread laboratory of good environmental practices, on the northeastern outskirts of the Metropolitan City of Bologna, in Emilia-Romagna.
Three Days of Nature, Culture, and Community
The program intertwines activities for all ages: animated readings for the little ones, creative workshops, urban walks to discover the territory, in-depth sessions on waste management and the circular economy, as well as shows, music, and local food options. Over the years, the festival has included guided tours of waste treatment and recovery facilities, bike rides, sports tournaments, and green cooking workshops.
A Participatory and Free Event
Verdevolo is born from the collaboration between the municipal administration, local associations, and schools in the area, with a strong spirit of participation. Admission is free, and the event is particularly aimed at families, offering a concrete model of sustainability that combines education, play, and social interaction.

Verdevolo 2026
The 2026 edition of Verdevolo was held from Friday, May 22 to Sunday, May 24, 2026, at Parco Verdevolo in Cadriano. The program combined environmental education, culture, and community moments, with offerings for families and children.
The Days
Friday, May 22, the festival opened with animated readings for children at the library, the urban walk "Città in GENERAZIONE" (City in GENERATION), and the "Cena della Legalità " (Dinner of Legality) with a student performance. Saturday, May 23, was dedicated to a visit to the waste-to-energy plant, workshops by associations, basketball tournaments, the "Cucina verde" (Green Kitchen) workshop, and a comedy show in the evening. Sunday, May 24, concluded with the bike ride, workshops by associations, and an afternoon concert.
