From Villa Pisani to the heart of Venice
Venicemarathon is the international marathon that every autumn connects the Venetian mainland to Venice with a 42.195 km course, one of the most spectacular in the world. The start is set at Villa Pisani in Stra, in the province of Venice, one of the most imposing residences on the Riviera del Brenta, from which runners launch themselves along the river, skirting historic Venetian villas.
A postcard-perfect route
The route, essentially flat and fast, crosses the centers of Marghera and Mestre, runs through San Giuliano Park and the Liberty Bridge, and then enters the heart of Venice. In the final kilometers, marathon runners face rafts along the Giudecca Canal, a floating bridge over the Grand Canal, St. Mark's Square, and the Doge's Palace, overcoming the last fourteen bridges equipped with wooden walkways, up to the finish line at Riva Sette Martiri.
An international event
With thousands of participants from all over the world, Venicemarathon is much more than a race: it is a great celebration of sport and the territory, capable of transforming the Riviera del Brenta and the lagoon into a unique stage. Alongside the marathon, there are also races over shorter distances, open to athletes and enthusiasts of all levels.
Venicemarathon — edition 2026
The 2026 edition of Venicemarathon is scheduled for Sunday, October 25th. The marathon start is planned from Villa Pisani in Stra around 9:40 AM, with the finish at Riva Sette Martiri in Venice. The course, 42.195 km long and essentially flat and fast (except for short uphill sections of about a hundred meters), crosses the Riviera del Brenta, the centers of Marghera and Mestre, San Giuliano Park, and the Liberty Bridge, concluding in the heart of Venice, where in the last 3 km, fourteen bridges with wooden walkways are tackled.

Shorter distance races for athletes and enthusiasts are also scheduled.
