A unique marathon in the world
Venicemarathon is among the most evocative marathons in Italy: 42.195 certified kilometers that connect the mainland to Venice, with arrival in the historic center. The race starts from Villa Pisani in Stra, along the Brenta Riviera, and before reaching the lagoon it crosses several riverside municipalities, including Mira (province of Venice) and its hamlet of Oriago.
The passage through Mira
For the Municipality of Mira, the Venicemarathon is a morning of celebration: the route runs along the Brenta Canal through the town's streets, among Venetian villas and inhabited centers, around the tenth kilometer of the race. The residents of Mira and Oriago lean out along the banks to support the over ten thousand athletes from all over the world.
Towards San Marco
After the Brenta Riviera, the course enters Marghera and Mestre, runs along Parco San Giuliano and crosses the Ponte della Libertà, almost 4 km long, before reaching the Venetian historic center: the Giudecca Canal, a floating bridge over the Grand Canal, Piazza San Marco and the 14 bridges of the finale up to Riva dei Sette Martiri. 8 refreshment areas are planned along the route, at km 5, 10, 15, 21, 25, 30, 35 and 40.

The 40th Venicemarathon is scheduled for Sunday, October 25, 2026, starting from Villa Pisani in Stra and finishing on Riva dei Sette Martiri, in Venice. The 42.195 km course goes up the Brenta Riviera, crossing Fiesso d'Artico, Dolo, Mira, Oriago, and Malcontenta, before reaching Marghera, Mestre, and the Venetian historic center via the Ponte della Libertà.

- Marghera (half marathon), Mestre, Parco San Giuliano, Ponte della Libertà
- Finish in Venice: Giudecca Canal, floating bridge over the Grand Canal, Piazza San Marco, Riva dei Sette Martiri
- 8 refreshment areas at km 5, 10, 15, 21, 25, 30, 35, and 40

How to follow the race in Mira
The passage through Mira and Oriago takes place in the morning along the Brenta Riviera (SR11), around km 10. Temporary road closures are planned along the route during the race.
Registration and bib collection
Online registration on the official website (progressive fees based on date). Requirements: athletes aged 20 and over, FIDAL members, Runcard holders, or affiliated with foreign federations recognized by World Athletics. Bib collection at the Venice Marathon Village, Parco San Giuliano (Mestre).
