From Stra to Venice along the Brenta
The Wizz Air Venicemarathon is one of the most fascinating marathons in Italy: the 42 km course starts from Villa Pisani in Stra, goes up the Riviera del Brenta crossing Dolo (province of Venice) and other riverside towns, to end in the heart of Venice. Running among the 18th-century Venetian villas and arriving in the lagoon is an experience that combines sport and heritage.
An international race
Recognized by World Athletics, the Venicemarathon attracts thousands of participants from all over the world each year. In addition to the marathon (42 km), the program includes the half marathon (21 km), the 10K, and the family run, to involve athletes of all levels and families.
Passing through Dolo
For the towns of the Riviera, and for Dolo in particular, the marathon's passage is a moment of celebration: the river of runners crossing the town along the Naviglio del Brenta transforms the day into a collective event, with spectators along the route. The event is organized by Venicemarathon S.S.D.
Venicemarathon — edition 2026
The 40th edition of the Wizz Air Venicemarathon is confirmed for Sunday, October 25, 2026. The marathon route (42 km) starts from Villa Pisani in Stra, crosses Dolo and the Riviera del Brenta, and ends in Venice. The half marathon (21 km), the 10K, and the family run are also planned. At the time of the official website's update, over 17,000 runners were registered; the 21K is reported as sold out, while the 42K and 10K still have places available. The event is recognized by World Athletics.
