About Veneto Trail
A cycling adventure in the heart of Veneto
The Veneto Trail is not a race: it is a self-supported cycling adventure of about 480 kilometers with 11,000 meters of elevation gain, starting and finishing in Cittadella, in the province of Padua, from Piazza Pierobon. No times, no rankings: each participant manages their own pace, stops, meals, and rest, following a GPS track.
From the Venetian plains to the Dolomites
The loop route crosses Veneto and Trentino, alternating paved secondary roads, dirt tracks, single-tracks, and forest roads. Among the most spectacular passages are Passo Rolle and Val Venegia; the 2026 edition introduces the climb to the legendary Passo Pordoi, the highest point of the route, and a technical descent towards Arabba.
The spirit of bikepacking
The Veneto Trail embodies the spirit of bikepacking and adventure cycling: a physical and mental experience that tests endurance and offers unforgettable views of the Dolomites. The start from the walled city of Cittadella, with its medieval walls, kicks off one of the most beloved randonnées in the Northeast.
Veneto Trail — edition 2026
The 2026 edition of the Veneto Trail, the eleventh, starts on Friday, June 19, at 8:00 AM from Piazza Pierobon in Cittadella. The loop route, renewed with new sections, measures approximately 480 km with 11,000 m of elevation gain and crosses Veneto and Trentino. The most anticipated novelty is the climb to Passo Pordoi, the highest point of the route, followed by a technical descent towards Arabba.
