The great non-competitive walk through the treasures of Castelfranco Veneto
The Passeggiata del Giorgione is a fun, non-competitive walk that attracts thousands of participants of all ages to Castelfranco Veneto, in the province of Treviso, every September. The event, organized by the Associazione Pro Loco di Castelfranco Veneto, is named after Giorgio da Castelfranco, known as Giorgione, one of the greatest painters of the Venetian Renaissance, who was born in this very city.
The start and finish point is Piazza Giorgione, in the heart of the walled city. The routes, of varying lengths, cross the most picturesque places in the area: the historic center enclosed by medieval walls, the gardens of Villa Bolasco and Cà Amata, and the banks of the Muson river. Among the routes, the accessible and barrier-free one stands out, designed for people with mobility issues, confirming the inclusive nature of the event.
Along the routes and in the square, there will be entertainment for adults and children, free refreshment points, areas dedicated to four-legged friends—complete with a race pack and "bark" refreshment—and services such as bag storage in the Giorgione Green Village in Piazza Giorgione and a cool-down area with massages offered by qualified physiotherapists. The day concludes with the traditional pasta party. A charity event that combines gentle exercise, discovery of the territory, and conviviality.
After the 45th edition in 2025, the Passeggiata del Giorgione returns in 2026 for its forty-sixth edition. The exact date has not yet been announced, but the event is a regular fixture on a Sunday in September. Based on past editions, the four non-competitive routes (of varying lengths, including an accessible and barrier-free one) are expected to start from Piazza Giorgione, passing through the historic center enclosed by its walls, the gardens of Villa Bolasco and Cà Amata, and the banks of the Muson, with entertainment, free refreshment points, an area for four-legged friends, the Giorgione Green Village, and a final pasta party.
Program coming soon: the date and regulations for the 2026 edition will be announced by the Pro Loco of Castelfranco Veneto. The usual structure includes:
