Circo in Città is the contemporary circus section of Operaestate Festival Veneto, which every summer transforms Bassano del Grappa, in the province of Vicenza, into a widespread stage for the circus arts of the new millennium.
From the White Night to the September Season
The most popular event is the white night that fills the streets and squares of the historic center with juggling, aerial acrobatics, balancing, fire performances, and comedy, experienced as a grand open-air theatre. In September, the festival continues with a season of shows under the big top and at Parco Ragazzi del '99, featuring companies from the Italian and European contemporary circus scene.
A Showcase of New Circus
The programming blends different languages, from acrobatics to dance, from live music to dramaturgy, making Bassano one of Italy's reference points for contemporary circus, within the broader multidisciplinary season of Operaestate.
Circo in Città — edition 2026
The 2026 edition, part of the 46th season of Operaestate Festival Veneto, opens with the white night Circo in Città on July 8th, bringing circus arts to the streets of the historic center. In September, the festival continues at Parco Ragazzi del '99 with a season of contemporary circus shows.
Among the guest companies are Circo El Grito with a diptych, CIE ZEC, and Collettivo 6TU, for a program that spans acrobatics, dramaturgy, and new circus languages.

How to get there
The shows take place in the historic center of Bassano del Grappa and at Parco Ragazzi del '99 (Via Santa Caterina). The city is reachable by train and car via the SP248.
Tickets
The white night in the center is generally free to access; the September shows are ticketed, on sale at operaestate.it and vivaticket.it.
