Valle di Comino Festival (8th Edition)

A festival that makes Atina the City of Music

The Valle di Comino Festival is a concert series that, every spring, transforms Atina and the villages of the Valle di Comino, in the province of Frosinone, into a widespread stage dedicated to classical music. Conceived and organized by the LazioCulturaEventi (LCE – APS) association under the artistic direction of Maestro Michele Santorsola, the festival is now a fixture in the cultural calendar of southern Lazio, confirming Atina's role as a "City of Music and Culture".

Program of the eighth edition (2026)

The 2026 edition runs from March to June with a lineup spanning three centuries of repertoire, alternating between Baroque, Romantic, and contemporary works. Here are the main highlights:

• March 13, 9:00 PM – Atina, Palazzo Ducale dei Cantelmo: opening concert "Sound Itineraries: from the Baroque to the 20th Century", featuring Andrea Oliva on flute and Sara Matteo on piano, with a program ranging from Bach to Bloch, Martinů, Enescu, and Taffanel.
• April 18, 7:00 PM – Atina, Church of Santa Scolastica: "Belcanto in Trio", with the Refice Ensemble (flute, clarinet, and bassoon).
• April 24, 6:30 PM – Cassino, Palazzo della Cultura: "Echoes of Spain, from Follia to Asturias", a journey through the Iberian repertoire.
• June 6, 9:00 PM – Atina, Palazzo Ducale dei Cantelmo: closing concert "Tango and Memory for Bandoneón", with Mario Stefano Pietrodarchi and the Soloists of the Orchestra del Lazio.

Throughout the series, numerous performers will take the stage, including Olga Zdorenko, Giovanni Masi, the Refice Ensemble, and the Sus4tet, in a dialogue between classical music, jazz influences, Argentine memories, and 20th-century repertoire.

Concert Venues

Most events take place in the Palazzo Ducale dei Cantelmo in Atina, where the acoustics and historical architecture blend to offer an intimate and intense listening experience. Other stops reach symbolic locations in the area, such as the Church of Santa Scolastica in Atina and the Palazzo della Cultura in Cassino, extending the festival beyond the borders of the Valle di Comino alone.

Beyond evening concerts, the Valle di Comino Festival has always cultivated an educational and social mission: masterclasses with world-class teachers, educational events with schools, and moments designed to bring younger audiences closer to the language of music. It is a way to root the festival in the life of the community and to enhance, through art, the historical and landscape heritage of the Valle di Comino and the entire southern Lazio region.
