About Urbe & Turbe
A review that investigates the emotions of the present
Urbe & Turbe is a multidisciplinary cultural review held in Roccabianca, a small municipality in the Bassa Parmense area of the province of Parma, in Emilia-Romagna. Conceived by Michele Ravanetti's Xyzt studio, the event was born in 2023 as a "review of contemporary fear" and has progressively transformed into an observatory on the emotions that traverse today's society. Each edition chooses a guiding theme and explores it through meetings with authors and scholars, performances, workshops, and collective exhibitions.
The venue: Circolo Arci G. Faraboli
The heart of the review is the Circolo Arci G. Faraboli, located at Strada Macello 6 in Roccabianca: a community space that for a few weeks becomes a place for meeting, listening, and discussion. Here, themed evenings, participatory moments, and an exhibition visible throughout the festival alternate in an informal and welcoming atmosphere typical of the circles in the Emilia countryside.
A dialogue between art, psychology, and digital culture
The strength of Urbe & Turbe lies in connecting different languages: the psychology of emotions, visual and illustration arts, literature, digital culture and memes, artificial intelligence, and the relationship between body and environment. Each event is designed as an experience, not just a conference: you discuss, watch, walk, and participate.
An event rooted in the territory
While addressing universal and contemporary themes, Urbe & Turbe remains deeply connected to its territory: it enjoys the patronage of the Municipality of Roccabianca and the University of Parma, and involves local associations and artists alongside national and international guests. It is an example of how even a small town in Emilia-Romagna can become a reference point for broad cultural reflection.
Urbe & Turbe — edition 2026
For its Vol.04, held from April 26 to June 7, 2026, Urbe & Turbe chose to investigate happiness: a theme approached without rhetoric, exploring how it changes form as it is experienced, between digital culture and the relationship with nature. Four events at Circolo Arci G. Faraboli in Roccabianca intertwined reflection, art, and participation, accompanied throughout the review by the collective exhibition "Happiness Glitches · Scarti, Metamorfosi", dedicated to glitches, collages, and fragments of happiness in contemporary chaos.
Programme Urbe & Turbe 2026
April 26 — Memes, glitches, and synthetic happiness
Opening evening with Mattia Marangon (Ugolize), author and communicator, author of the book Sommersi. A dialogue on how internet culture, meme aesthetics, and artificial intelligence are redefining our imagination and the way we build value, attention, and desire.
May 10 — The price of a click
An event dedicated to the relationship between happiness, attention, and digital economy: how much does our happiness "cost" in the age of clicks and platforms.
May 24 — Discovering Gaia
Afternoon dedicated to children, with an experience designed to introduce children and families to the themes of nature and environmental care.
June 7 — Metrics of happiness
Concluding evening inspired by the essay of the same name by Italo Testa: an immersive experience dedicated to the relationship between body, landscape, and perception. At 4:30 PM, an experiential walk inspired by the practice of forest bathing begins, a slow and conscious immersion in the natural environment through listening, movement, and sensory activation.
Exhibition — Happiness Glitches · Scarti, Metamorfosi
Collective exhibition visible throughout the festival, featuring 16 works by national and international illustrators and artists, dedicated to glitches, collages, metamorphoses, and fragments of happiness in contemporary chaos.

How to get there
Roccabianca is located in the Bassa Parmense, about 35 km northwest of Parma. By car, it can be reached via the provincial road along the Po river; the nearest train station is Parma, from which you can continue by bus or car. Nearest airport: Parma "Giuseppe Verdi".
