About Un'Estate da RE

Un'Estate da RE is the major music, opera, and dance festival that transforms the Carlo di Borbone Courtyard of the Royal Palace of Caserta into an open-air stage every summer. Conceived by the Campania Region and organized by Scabec, it brings operas, symphonic concerts, dance galas, and major national and international stars to the foot of the Vanvitellian facade. A prestigious event for the city of Caserta and the entire Campania region, blending UNESCO heritage with live performance.

Great music at the foot of the Royal Palace

Un'Estate da RE is the summer festival that lights up the Carlo di Borbone Courtyard at the Royal Palace of Caserta every year, one of Italy's most spectacular monumental complexes and a UNESCO World Heritage site. Beneath the majestic facade designed by Luigi Vanvitelli, a high-level program unfolds, weaving together opera, symphonic concerts, dance galas, and evenings with renowned singer-songwriters.

A project by the Campania Region

The event is programmed and funded by the Campania Region and organized by Scabec - Società Campana Beni Culturali, in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture, the Management of the Royal Palace of Caserta, the Municipality of Caserta, and the "Giuseppe Verdi" Municipal Theatre of Salerno. The artistic direction is entrusted to Maestro Antonio Marzullo. Over the years, the festival has become a benchmark for the Italian opera and symphonic summer, attracting a large audience to Caserta from across Campania and beyond.

The 9th edition (2025)

The ninth edition took place from July 19 to 31, 2025, with performances starting at 9:00 PM. The program alternated between the inaugural concert with the Accademia Barocca di Santa Cecilia and the voice of Toni Servillo, Verdi's La traviata conducted by Daniel Oren, the La gioia di danzare gala featuring stars from La Scala, and a closing night with Edoardo Bennato in concert.

The 2026 edition

The lineup for the upcoming edition, expected to be the tenth, has not yet been officially announced by the Campania Region and Scabec. As every summer, the festival is expected to return to the Royal Palace courtyard with operas, symphonic concerts, and dance performances: the detailed calendar and ticket information will be published on the official website unestatedare.it. In the summer of 2026, the Royal Palace of Caserta and the nearby Real Belvedere of San Leucio will host a rich season of major live concerts.

A stage unique in the world

What makes Un'Estate da RE a truly special event is the natural backdrop provided by the Royal Palace: the audience watches the performances with the illuminated monumental staircase and the Vanvitellian facade behind them, in a fusion of 18th-century architecture and live music that few other places can offer. It is a way to experience the monument in an unprecedented, evening, and cultural light.

Caserta and Campania

The festival enhances the Municipality of Caserta and the entire Campania region, promoting regional artistic heritage through great music. It is an event that combines cultural tourism, musical excellence, and the discovery of one of the symbols of the European 18th century, attracting spectators, opera lovers, and curious visitors every summer.
